When installing SHINGLAS bituminous shingles, it is essential to take some basic aspects into account. The primary condition for considering installation by nailing is that the substrate is suitable to accommodate such mechanical fasteners. The most commonly used laying tops are those made of wood, such as Plywood (marine plywood), OSB, tapped planking (matchboarding), rough boards.

For each type of these subfloors, it is necessary to ensure that they are well cured and adequately fi xed to the supporting structure, which should not have large wheelbases to avoid excessive bending. Plywood and OSB panels should be laid “brick-split,” with fi xing on each support about every 15cm and providing a gap of about 2-3mm on all sides to allow for any expansion.

SHINGLAS bituminous shingles can provide waterproofing, but for greater assurance of water tightness in different weather conditions, the use of a waterproofing underlayment is recommended. This special membrane should be applied to all areas of the roof that could be exposed to greater risk of infiltration, such as: eave line, compluviums, chimneys, skylights.

The waterproofing underlayment also has the function of temporary protection during the installation stages of the roofing and is an effective barrier for possible ice formation at the eave line.

SHINGLAS bituminous shingles are applied with galvanized improved-bonded wide-headed nails.
For laying by using nails, three basic rules, listed below, must coexist.
Failure to comply with even one of the three conditions results in the inability to use this fi xing system.

  • Nailable substrate: nailable substrates can be of different materials (sheet metal, concrete, insulating, wooden, etc.) but not all of them are suitable for nailing, which must provide adequate resistance to nail extraction.
  • Slope: each SHINGLAS shingle model has a minimum slope paramenter to be able to ensure waterproofing by nailing.
  • Pitch length: the minimum distance between the eave line and the ridge should not exceed 5m, as the amount of water that may accumulate on the roof surface, driven by pressure and wind, may be able to find the fi xing nails, leading to infi ltration points.

LOGICROOF membranes are used for waterproofing foundations, tunnels and roofs of industrial, commercial buildings.

Thermal insulation systems made of insulating materials industrially coupled with waterproof membranes to protect against water and improve the energy performance of buildings.

LOGICROOF is the line of synthetic single-ply waterproofing membranes used to protect foundations, tunnels and roofs of industrial and commercial buildings.

Laminated shingles are composed of multiple layers, giving more rigidity, resistance to strong winds (as well as the most common weather conditions) and greater product longevity.
