CERTIFICATION SYSTEM

ISO International Organization for Standardization was founded in 1947 to facilitate the coordinating and the international unification  of the industrial Norms. ISO is a non-governmental organization currently set up by national standard institutes of  130 countries. The ISO 9000 family is among ISO’s most widely known standards (with revisions 1986, 1994 and 2000), set to fulfill the management requirements of the product, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction, while the ISO 14000 family looks set to implement the environmental management. The standards of both ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families are known as “generic” management standards. This means that the same standards can be applied to any organization, large or small, whatever its  production or any sector of acitivity (private or public).

Certification procedures.
Once agreement has been reached on which technical aspects and evaluation must be covered in the standard, the Company is ready to get evaluated by the International standards organization.

• Selection of the certification organization.  The Company selects the standard organization according to its needs
• Documentation. Once the standard organization has been contacted, the Company then forwards the request complete with the environmental and quality management system.
• Review of documentation. The organization structure verifies if  the system  meets the effective standard norms,  and if some discrepancies are to be found, the company must perform all the necessary corrections.
• Inspection. At a fixed date, the auditors of the technical committee will verify if the procedures are being implemented, reviewing them with the various personnel involved.
• Conformity assessment. During the inspection  any discrepancy among the procedures and the Company real operative system is recorded ,  as  “non-conformity”,  allowing a limited time  to correct the discrepancies, after which the certification body  will verify the performed corrective actions.
• Issue of the certification. The issue of the certification by the body is authorized by a certification committee, composed by the representative of different interest (Ministries, Consumers Organizations, etc.). The validity of the certification is 3 years, after which the Company must submit again its organization to the certification procedures.
• Periodical verifications. The periodical control by the certification body is performed every six months to one year.
